In 2014, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued decree No. 6 of 2014 on the establishment of Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) in an effort to continue to keep pace with the event and also the swift growth inside the Emirate of Sharjah.
